Prepare for a new treat… Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a desert. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate they have decided to name the next version of Android after KitKat.
Its KitKat now!
Google recently announced its latest version of Android – 4.3 Jelly Bean. Just when all of us thought that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie would be the next upcoming version of the Android OS, Google has announced that the successor of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would be named KitKat and it is Android 4.4, not 5.0 as rumoured before.
Android 4.4 KitKat is named after Nestle’s popular candy bar.
Why KitKat (and not Key Lime Pie)?
As per Google folks, very few people actually know the taste of a Key Lime Pie. Late last year, someone suggested naming the upcoming version KitKat — apparently a favourite snack of Android coders — and the company decided to reach out to the Nestle folks. Within 24 hours an agreement was made.bounce house
The company did not reveal any of the Android 4.4 features instead saying that it’s “our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.”
